Penguin

These are images for my entries to Penguin's design awards. At the top is the front cover image for James and the Giant Peach, created with digital vectors and traditional painting, and below is my entry for the adult's book section, Gabriel Garcia-Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. The tree and it's fish-shaped leaves represent the family depicted in the novel, and reference the golden fish crafted by one of the novel's key characters.

Lloyds TSB

These were created for Lloyds TSB's 'Art of Nurture' competition. The hands image was based on the theme 'We Succeed Together', with various friends/family members providing useful hand models.
As we were able to submit two different images, I felt the second image should have a more light-hearted appearance, hence a chess playing, monocled owl for the 'We Act Wisely' title. Both images were created with quick drying oils on board.

Fish.

Thought I'd pop some old work up seeing as it's been a while since the last update. The brief was to illustrate 19 tailors and 1 suit but along the way it became subverted into an underwater theme.
